“Canceled” VHS Box

“Canceled” was a piece for VHS Retrovision 2 gallery show at Hive Gallery in DTLA. The inspiration behind the piece comes from Cancel culture, which has been a voice for the people. Audiences have sat themselves at the table to have these tough conversations with public figures. They hold them accountable, but even go further as to call for their cancellation, which has also been criticized. My piece draws reference from “Night of the Living Dead'‘ and other 80’s cult films. The figures I have chosen all have been under the microscope for their past actions only to return as a shell of their former selves.
